We are so proud to be the UK-exclusive dealer for the wonderful Cornerstone pedals. These pedals absolutely nail beautiful, boutique tones. All you really have to do is turn them on and then get lost in playing. The latest edition to the ranks is the Imperium. To understand it, it is worth a quick revision of Cornerstone's history...
Emilio Massari (the mastermind behind Cornerstone) developed the Gladio as a result of his passion for Robben Ford's amazing tone. The left-side was based on the tone of Robben's Dumble on Cannonball Shuffle. The right-side was based on Sonny Landreth's Dumble on Elemental Journey. The pedal was hugely successful and the Robben Ford side was eventually available by itself as the Gladio SC. It is such a testament to the pedal that it is now used by Robben himself!
After absolutely nailing what he had set out to do, Emilio went at it again by developing the Antique. Another pedal designed to chase one specific tone - this time it was John Mayer's tone on the LA live album that he did with his trio. The pedal was once again hugely successful and resulted in the dream TS-style pedal - both creamy and inspiring.
Emilio noticed how well the Gladio SC and the Antique stacked together. The sound was incredibly touch-sensitive and dynamic. It was saturated yet defined. It had a full bottom-end yet was not dark and murky. It gave a new sound, different even to the two sides of the Gladio stacked together.
Inspired by this, Emilio went on to spend 10 months developing the perfect prototype of the Imperium - the results of a Gladio SC and Antique stacked together. The two circuits had to work perfectly together with no noise issues from PCB placements. The footswitches had to be smooth and offer the chance to use the channels individually or engage/disengage them both at the same time for live use.
The result is another masterpiece, giving you access to two fantastic Cornerstone pedals plus the new sonic worlds achieved from stacking them whichever way you prefer.
Get a piece of history by investing in an Imperium and securing yourself both Robben Ford and John Mayer's tones... plus a new sound that is yours to define.
